Barbarisms

After a week of barbarisms from within and without I can't summon the necessary objectivity to write one of my usual posts. Instead, let's listen to some music to remind us of France in other, less fraught times. And finally, something that may be more immediately relevant. The original title of the French national anthem, La Marseillaise, was "Chant de guerre pour l'Armée du Rhin" composed in 1792:
